St Paul de Vence is one of the numerous perched villages that are located in the Provence hinterland mountain range. From its origin, as a military stronghold, it has kept its ramparts, guard’s way, canons, and other such features. The village is also very famous because of the large number of celebrities, painters or film producers who have come to appreciate the local light, the calm, the sea and peacefulness of the area. Picasso, Matisse, Chagall or Renoir are just but a few of those that have come to take advantage of this small paradise on earth to devote some time for their artwork. Here, you will have time to explore this unique village and stroll through the narrow and picturesque streets from the Royale Gate to the Southern Gate to discover magnificent stone facades from the 16th and 17th centuries. Other highlights of the village include the Folon chapel, the Fondation Maeght and amazing restaurants like La Colombe d’Or.
Arrive in Nice, the jewel of the Côte d’Azur. Marvel at the beauty of the Promenade des Anglais. Explore the old town with its world-famous flower market. The town is also home to the Marc Chagall national museum. Other highlights of the city include 16th-century houses, as well as numerous 19th-century architecture that corresponds to the city’s popularity as a tourist destination.
Hanging over the Sea, the Medieval village of Eze has retained all its charms throughout the centuries. From the ruins of its medieval fortress to its charming, narrow streets, the small village now attracts a multitude of artisans and artists. Established in what used to be barns or sheepfolds, they definitely contribute to the local ambiance of this peaceful area. Celebrated for the calm that can be found here, numerous writers have also decided to settle down here, one of the most famous being Nietzsche who is said to have written Thus Spoke Zarathustra in Eze. Enjoy some free time for personal discovery.
We also organize fun & informative shore excursions from Nice & Villefranche Sur Mer to other major sites of the region including Monaco, Monte Carlo, Cannes, and its film festival palace, hilltop villages and the medieval village of Eze, Saint Tropez, Cap Ferrat or Grass, the world capital of perfumes.
