Pick up at your Cruise Ship in Monaco
First, we will come and pick you up at your cruise ship in Monaco Port of Call. Before the start of the tour, your guide will introduce you to the area and to the different sites that you will be seeing on this full-day tour dedicated to the most renowned towns & villages of the French Riviera. This private tour is a perfect introduction to the area for those of you who have only but a short time in the area.
Visit stunning Saint Paul de Vence village
Your private day trip will begin with the village of St Paul de Vence. The village is one of the numerous perched villages that are located in the Provence hinterland mountain range. From its origin, as a military stronghold, it has kept its ramparts, guard’s way, canons, and other such features.
The village is also very famous because of the large number of celebrities, painters or film producers who have come to appreciate the local light, the calm, the sea and peacefulness of the area. Picasso, Matisse, Chagall or Renoir are just but a few of those that have come to take advantage of this small paradise on earth to devote some time for their artwork.
Here, you will have time to explore and stroll through the narrow and picturesque streets from the Royale Gate to the Southern Gate to discover magnificent stone facades from the 16th and 17th centuries. The village is also scattered with art galleries and delightful small squares typical of small french villages.
Discover the town of Cannes
Your private day trip continues with a stop in the world-famous town of Cannes. Embellished by palm trees and fine sandy beaches the town is famous for its cafés and terraces, elegant shops and deluxe hotels. Here, you will discover the Cannes film festival and conference center and have time to stroll and shop as well. The town is without a doubt one of the most glamorous of the Côte d’Azur.
Followed by the Medieval village of Eze
Your shore excursion from Monaco continues with the visit of Eze. Hanging over the Sea, the Medieval village of Eze has retained all its charms throughout the centuries. From the ruins of its medieval fortress to its charming, narrow streets, the small village now attracts a multitude of artisans and artists. Established in what used to be barns or sheepfolds, they definitely contribute to the local ambiance of this peaceful area.
Celebrated for the calm that can be found here, numerous writers have also decided to settle down here, one of the most famous being Nietzsche who is said to have written Thus Spoke Zarathustra in Eze. Enjoy some free time for personal discovery.
End the day in Elegant Antibes
Finally, discover the Côte d’Azur traveling along the coast and arrive in Antibes, an enjoyable old town, that houses one of the most famous Picasso collections in the Picasso museum. The town’s port is located below its fortifications, with luxurious yachts and brightly painted fishing boats. In the 1500s, Antibes’ Fort Carré, which now dominates the port, was the last French stronghold before the Italian border. Antibes has plenty of little streets to explore and you will certainly marvel as you admire the world’s largest yachts in Port Vauban and the largest marina on the French Mediterranean Sea. There are also some fantastic beaches between Antibes and the town of Juan Les Pins such as La Garoupe and Cap d’Antibes where the Villa Eilenroc is located. Juan Les Pins is also famous for organizing one of the world’s most famous Jazz festivals, Jazz à Juan.
After the visit, head back towards Monaco, Monte Carlo and this will be the end of our services.
