Best known for the eponymous sparkling white wine which originates here, Champagne region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site characterized by lush landscapes and vineyards climbing up gently undulating hills. Delve into “champagne country” and explore Epernay, home to some of the most celebrated champagne producers, such as Moët & Chandon or Perrier-Jouët, and when you’ve had your fill of champagne why not wander the streets of the gothic villages dotted around the otherwise pristine countryside? Champagne is a region that should be on every wine lover’s itinerary. Join us on one of our private tours to explore this rural idyll with champagne cellar visits and taste the bubbly wine that gave this region its fame.

Specialized in small group Champagne Tours & Tastings, we offer exclusive private day trips to world famous wineries located in Reims or Epernay such as Veuve Clicquot, Martel, Ruinart, Mercier and many more. Departing from Reims let us organize a special champagne tour from Paris for you and your party that will take you to the Montagne de Reims producing area, Epernay renowned for its ‘Avenue de Champagne’ or Hautvillers home of Dom Perignon. On our private Champagne Tasting Tours we usually include the visit of 2 wineries and it is possible for us to pre book a delicious meal at a Michelin star restaurant making this a day you will not forget. To experience a full day excursions in the famous Champagne Wine Region is to let yourself be transported in the sensuousness and voluptuous of incredible Champagne Houses.

Guided tour of the Cathedral of Reims

In the morning, we will come and pick you up at your accommodation in Paris. You will meet your English Speaking tour guide and board your air conditioned vehicle. The drive to Reims will be of just over one hour. Upon arrival, start with the cathedral Notre Dame, a Gothic jewel listed as a UNESCO World Heritage monument. Admire the beautiful stained glass work and revel at the rich statuary work inside the cathedral. Since the Middle Ages, the Reims cathedral was the place where the French Kings came to be crowned. All but two Kings of France were actually crowned here! Follow your accredited guide for a comprehensive visit of what is considered to be one of the most beautiful cathedrals of France.

Village of Hautvillers

In the village of Hautvillers, make a stop to visit the tomb of Dom Pérignon, located in the beautiful Hautvillers Abbey. Dom Pérignon made his mark in history by profusely contributing to the enhancement of the production and the quality of wine in the Champagne region. He also pushed forward white and sparkling wines in a region where, in his time, red wine was still dominant. The legend says he was so skilled, he could tell which vineyard a single grape came from just by tasting it. Today, one of the most prestigious champagne brands, Dom Pérignon, is still named after him.

After the visit, reach Epernay where it will be time to stop for lunch. Here, your guide will suggest restaurants depending on your wishes and budget.

Champagne House Visit

After lunch, we will take you to one of the most famous Champagne Wineries. Usually we program a visit to world-famous Moët & Chandon winery, where you will be able to taste different kinds of champagnes in company of a wine expert. Stroll through the historic cellars where champagne has been ageing for centuries. Moët & Chandon is not new in the game, as it was already loved by Napoléon Ist and the Marquise de Pompadour, who was the official chief mistress of King Louis XV. Today, the brand is one of the most distributed in the world and is heavily consumed at international events such as the Cannes Film Festival.

Local Champagne producer

After lunch, your day in champagne will take you to a much smaller family run estate. You will discover another side of the champagne making business, operating on a much smaller scale than Möet & Chandon and other big estates. Learn how champagne is traditionally made and try some vintages you have never tasted before. An authentic, small batch champagne coming straight from the Champagne region makes a great souvenir from a trip to France, or a gift that family and friends will love.

After the visit, return to Paris and end of our services.
