Three Commented Grands Crus Wine Tastings

In the morning, meet your English speaking guide who is an expert on Alsace Wines and who will go over the itinerary and program with you. Then, board your spacious, comfortable, air conditioned Mercedes minivan and begin to make your way to the Alsace wine producing region.

Your private Alsace Wine Tour will take place in one of our very spacious Mercedes Minivans. This vehicle can take up to 8 persons normally but on this occasion, the vehicle will only be for you. This allows you to choose the seat that you think best in terms of social distancing while still enjoying the information passed on by your guide. All our vehicles are equipped with an onboard P/A system that allows you to hear the commentary of your driver/guide no matter where you are seated. Also, there is free Wi-Fi access on all tour vehicles. Bottled water is also available in all our vehicles.

Renowned for its aromatic white wines, the Alsace wine region is ideally suited with its dry and sunny climate, complex geology, favorable soils, and excellent exposure. During this full day wine tasting tour from Colmar, you will taste wine in 3 different wineries. As you experience a tasting session, learn about the 7 different types of Alsace wines. Local grape varieties include Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Sylvaner, Muscat to name the most famous.

Your Ophorus guide will be with you during the visits so don’t hesitate to ask any questions. All our drivers/guides have great knowledge about wines and they will be happy to share any basic or more technical information concerning French or Alsace Wines. Whether you have questions about history, technique, flavors, aromas, food & wine pairings don’t hesitate to ask them anything that relates to wine to make this full day a very special one.

During the day, you will also make stops in traditional villages of the Alsace region that are located along the famous Alsace wine route. This will be a great opportunity for your guide to also talk about the alsatian history and culture that is so unique. Also, your guide will suggest great lunch opportunities in one of these small villages, far from the crowds and where it will be possible for you to taste some of the delicious local specialties paired with stunning wines.

After your wine tasting sessions, it will be time to head back to Strasbourg and that will be the end of our services.
