A licensed or certified tour Guide is a guide that has obtained a university level diploma named 'License Professionnelle de Guide Conférencier'. This diploma is equivalent to a BA Degree and includes thorough knowledge in History, Art History and Architecture. Licensed / certified guides are authorized to conduct guided tours anywhere in France in historical city centers, cultural sites, monuments and museums. What is a Driver / Guide?
Driver / Guides are the ones who conduct most of our private & shared tours in the various destinations where we operate. All of them hold a certificate that is mandatory and that allows them to transport a maximum of 8 passengers. This certificate has to be renewed every 5 years and a medical examination, especially for the eyes, is also compulsory. In addition, a great number of our drivers are also official guides which means that they have passed a Bachelor's degree and have obtained their official tour guide certificate. If a visit of a historical city center, a museum, a monument is included on your tour then you will be in the hands of one of our expert driver/guides.
Is it possible to book a driver and a guide for a tour?
Yes it is possible for us to include both a driver and a guide for your private tours. This option means that you will have the full attention of your guide who will make commentaries during driving time and as you visit monuments or museums. Booking a driver and a guide means that you will make the most out of your travel here in France.Free Tours vs Paid Tours?
While free tours may seem like a tempting option for budget-conscious travelers, booking a licensed guide can offer many benefits that are well worth the investment. Here are a few reasons why it's better to book a licensed guide rather than a free tour:Quality of the tour - A licensed guide has the expertise, training, and experience necessary to provide a high-quality tour. They are knowledgeable about the history, culture, and attractions of the area, and can provide in-depth information and insights that a free tour guide may not be able to offer.
Personalized attention - With a licensed guide, you can enjoy a more personalized experience. They can tailor the tour to your interests and preferences and can provide recommendations and advice on things to do and see in the area.
Time-saving - A licensed guide can help you make the most of your time by taking you to the most important and interesting sites, and helping you navigate the area more efficiently. This can be especially valuable if you have limited time in the area and want to see as much as possible.
Safety and security - Booking a licensed guide ensures that you are working with a reputable and trustworthy professional who is committed to providing a safe and secure experience. They are trained to handle emergencies and unexpected situations and can provide valuable assistance and support if needed.
Legal compliance - In many areas, it is required by law to hire a licensed guide for certain activities or attractions. By booking a licensed guide, you can ensure that you follow local laws and regulations.
Overall, while free tours may seem like an attractive option, investing in a licensed guide can provide a more rewarding and enjoyable travel experience. You can rest assured that you are working with a qualified professional who is committed to providing you with the best possible experience and can help you make the most of your time in the area.
